Essence

After a few years of work, rewrites, obsession, art direction via Skype and heavily notated PDFs, Edward Daniel’s Essence, the Beginner’s Guide to Veganism is published.

The cover, shot by the inimitable Jason Spoor, shows the cross section of a fig.

Heart of Islington

St Mary’s Church in Islington, London, UK has been the center of the community for centuries.

This logo for St. Mary's community outreach and fundraising efforts for the restoration of their historic site was in use before I knew it had been approved.

EthiVegan in Porto

For Edward Daniel’s first EthiVegan event, he did what great performers do—opened out of town. He provided the nibbles for a gallery opening at Patch in Porto, Portugal.

I designed posters, postcards, web/social media banners, etc., and managed to produce aprons and carrier bags with the EthiVegan logo. Edward’s biggest surprise was meeting a fan of his blog.

Minute Molding

Minute Molding logo type under

Corporate identity designed for Minute Molding, a product that snapped onto existing door and window frames to create a custom look.

MM-2-pk

The initial design for packaging incorporated a die cut on each side, allowing the customer to check fitting before opening the package. It would have worked well for re-shelving merchandise for returns.

Bowing to pressure from the Big Box, we presented a clamshell design with clear illustrations for installation.

This set of icons was designed to designate the different faces of the product.

Minute Molding stacked

Shipping boxes created large billboard effects when stacked on palates for shipping.

Sadly, this was not instituted for final packaging, but I am proud of these graphics and the suggested innovations in packaging. If you see it on the shelf, buy it (I am invested) but be sure to send an email to Home Depot as to how much less attractive the graphics are.

Slow Food Festival

The Hoochee Poosa chapter of Slow Food USA held its first Slow Food Festival in Roanoke, AL. Adapting an existing graphic into a dynamic presentation, I created social media graphics, posters, informational postcards, event signage, retail signs for booths and banners.

Our younger members stenciled the Slow Food logo on the sidewalk, making a snail trail between our sponsor businesses and the event space.
